  • Early 1900’s: began manufacture of glue glycerin print roll covers for newspapers, print and box-board companies.
  • Supplys covers to Crown, Cork & Seal’s coil tin line. First in US, holds patent.
  • Eastern stainless steel’s pickling line is shut-down due to acid attack of existing covers; irco develops “arn-5,” solves problem & customer starts line again.
  • Partnership formed with steel plant equipment, USX Fairless Hills becomes major customer.
  • Covers supplied to valued customers such as Bethlehem Steel, Weirton, Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, HS Processing & Ohio Coatings, among others.
  • Ak steel, butler becomes an important customer and allows irco the opportunity to provide targeted solutions in problem areas.
  • Two new technical representatives are brought on to expand outreach.
  • Several metals processing plants become new customers. R&D efforts are directed toward obtaining new equipment to hold extremely precise tolerances.
  • Rg steel sparrows point declares chapter 11 bankruptcy. Irco has been the primary roll cover supplier ever since a sole source agreement was enacted over a decade ago. This arrangement survived through next four owners.
